Frisch Athletics Has Something for Everyone

December 5, 2019

Yeshivat Frisch’s Athletics Program is in full gear as the winter season gets underway. The school’s Yeshiva League winter teams have all gotten off to a great start. Boys and girls varsity and junior varsity basketball, boys varsity and junior varsity floor hockey, and girls varsity and junior varsity volleyball all had opening wins, and have accumulated more wins since. In addition, Frisch’s boys varsity basketball team recently won the fifth annual Steve Glouberman z”l Tournament in Los Angeles. Girls swim, boys ice hockey and wrestling teams all started off the season with wins.

On a club level, Frisch’s boys outdoor soccer athletes won the Mid Atlantic Tournament, and girls soccer athletes had the opportunity to play in MetLife Stadium. Boys and girls fencing and boys ultimate Frisbee are also off to a great start.

Frisch Athletics is renowned for its tremendous selection of sports opportunities, boasting 24 teams, 12 clubs and four intramurals. The program is continually expanding to meet the interests and needs of each individual; there is truly something for everyone. In addition to cross-country running (boys and girls), boys intramural football and basketball programs and more, Frisch recently added a girls ice hockey team and expanded its girls and boys lacrosse teams due to high demand.

Though the year is young, Frisch has already held tryouts for many spring teams, which include baseball, softball, indoor soccer, hockey and tennis.

This year, Frisch is also trying to get the Cougars onto the river with a new crew club. Bring on 2020!
