Yeshivat Frisch Welcomes Rachelle Fraenkel

September 26, 2019

Yeshivat Frisch was honored to welcome Rachelle Fraenkel on Monday, who addressed the senior grade in a program titled “Unity in the Face of Adversity: an Open Conversation.” Fraenkel, a yoetzet halacha and faculty member at Nishmat, as well as the director of Matan’s Advanced Halacha Program, co-founded The Jerusalem Unity Prize and Unity Day. Her son, Naftali, was kidnapped and murdered by Palestinian terrorists in 2014, leading to Operation Brother’s Keeper and Operation Protective Edge that summer. Frisch seniors viewed a video about the events of that summer, and then had the opportunity to have a discussion with Fraenkel and ask her any questions. The conversation was honest and open, and touched on topics such as faith and prayer after tragedy, unity versus disunity among Am Yisrael, media coverage of the events of 2014, remembrance, bereavement and resilience.
